Can Copper Turn My Skin Green?

I use non-tarnishable coated copper wire but prolonged wear may cause your copper ring to leave a green mark around your finger. When copper reacts with sweat, air or other chemicals like lotions, soaps, oils etc., it turns green or bluish green. This can stain the skin as well. The discolouration is safe and is not harmful in any way. Just wash off the stain with soap and water. Also, if your copper ring has become tarnished, you can use a soft bristled toothbrush to gently rub the markings away. Some people believe that this skin discolouration is a sign that the copper ring is working well and is absorbing all the negative influences of the body.
